Protect Your Money: How to Send Money Safely with Fettan
We care about protecting you from risky transactions whenever you send money and we recommend you review the following before using any money transfer service:
Send ONLY to People You Know
Fettan was created with the goal of helping our customers send money transfers to family and friends. While some customers may use Fettan for commercial purposes, you should take care in doing so. We recommend that you send money only to people you know personally. Do not send money to strangers or to people you have not met in person. Fraudulent beneficiaries do exist, and they try many ways to convince others to send them money. The best way to avoid such a scam is simple – send only to people you know personally.
Protect yourself from Scams
Be wary of any offer that sounds too good to be true or attempts to scare you into sending money. Some typical online scams include:
A merchant asks you to pay a fee or tax in advance of receiving goods or money. After you pay the fee, the promised goods are never sent.
A fraudulent merchant offers to sell you goods, but never sends you the promised goods. You should avoid buying goods and services with Fettan, as we cannot certify or vouch for the merchants you might buy from. If Fettan discovers you are using the service to purchase goods or services, we reserve the right to cancel the transaction, in order to eliminate any risk of fraud. In addition, using Fettan for the sale or purchase of counterfeit goods is illegal, and a strict violation of the Fettan User Agreement.
Someone contacts you and tells you a family member is sick or in trouble, and, asks you to send money immediately. If this happens to you, try to confirm the request with a trusted family member before sending any money.
Safeguard Your Password
The best way to protect your password is to make sure you don't share your password. Avoid using any part of your name, birthday, address, or personal information in your password, and, avoid using any password that might have been used on other websites. Instead, use a unique combination of letters and numbers that you think will be hard for other people to guess. Memorize your password and try not to write it down any place where someone could find it. If you suspect your password may be compromised, change it immediately.
Send for Yourself, Not for Others
You may not submit or receive a money transfer on behalf of any other person. If you intend to submit or receive a money transfer on behalf of a business or other non-human entity, you must inform Fettan of your desire to do so (and we will request some additional information about the entity).
Use Fettan for Legal Purposes Only
You should never use Fettan to send or receive a money transfer that may be unlawful. You should only send money for legal purposes, such as supporting your family and friends. Fettan uses proprietary compliance and anti-fraud policies and procedures, which are mandated by the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA Patriot Act, and other applicable U.S. laws and regulations. If Fettan detects that you or your recipient are engaging in illegal activities or violating the Fettan User Agreement, then we have the right to modify or discontinue your use of the Fettan service immediately, and we will take action against your account. Please visit the Fettan User Agreement for more information.
