Signing up with Fettan is simple.
You can either sign up from this web site,or text "REG" to +251911516459 from your mobile phone.
Once you submit your information on the web or your mobile, you will receive a call from a Fettan™ representative to finish the process and provide you with additional information about using Fettan™. It's that simple.
Is there a fee to join Fettan ?
Do I need to sign up to send money through Fettan?
After you join, Fettan™ will save your information and the information about your recipients in your user profile. You can easily send money without re-entering payment and recipient information. All information you save in your account is secure, and will not be shared or made available to anyone.
Basics For Sending Money
How much money can I send from Fettan?
- You can send 30,000 Birr per 30-day period as soon as you sign up.
If you need to send more than this, you will automatically be asked for additional information. You will be asked to provide additional information about yourself including your occupation and a government issued identification.

Fettan reserves the right to decline requests for increased send limits.
Basics For Receiving Money
How will I know when my recipient has received the money?
Fettan™sends a series of SMS Text and/or email notifications informing you of the status of your transaction. The first email is sent shortly after you submit a Fettan™transaction. The second SMS Text and/or email is sent when your payment has cleared and Fettan™transfers your transaction to our partner in the recipient's country.
Upon completion of the transaction, you will receive another SMS Text and/or email telling you that your recipient has received the funds.
Place the email address " This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it " in your "safe sender's list" to be sure that these messages are not mistakenly directed to your junk or spam mail box.
If you're not sure how to configure your email attributes, consult your Internet Service Provider (ISP), email service or system administrator.

How will my recipient receive the money?
CASH PICKUP SERVICE
Fettan™ partners with well known and trusted Banks and Retailers who pay out our money transfers. To pick up a money transfer, your recipient goes to a Cash Pickup agent and shows the agent a Fettan™ Tracking Number and valid I.D.
Our agents are conveniently located with many open day and night and on weekends. Contact Us for a complete list of agents.
This is how the Fettan™Cash Pickup process works:
- You, the sender, authorize a Fettan™ transaction after choosing Cash Pickup as your disbursement mode.
- You will see a Fettan™ Tracking Number on the receipt page. You will also get a receipt SMS Text and/or email from Fettan™ that includes your Tracking number. At this point, Fettan™ is processing your payment.
- Next, you will receive a Ready For Pickup SMS Text and/or email. Please read this SMS Text and/or email carefully. Give your recipient the Fettan™Tracking Number and any other details from the email required for a successful cash pickup.
- When your recipient arrives at the local bank branch or retailer, your recipient will be required to fill out a simple form with the Fettan™ Tracking Number and I.D. The teller or agent will confirm the Fettan™Tracking Number, verify your recipient's identification, pay out the transfer, and provide a receipt to confirm payment.
- At this time, your transaction will be updated to "COMPLETED" and you will receive an SMS Text and/or email notification confirming that your recipient has successfully picked up the money. The email notification may arrive shortly after the money has been paid or on the next business day. You'll also be able to track the entire process by visiting Fettan™ Track Transaction and entering your Tracking Number.
BANK DEPOSIT SERVICE
Fettan™partners with well-known and trusted Banks so you can viewquickly and easily deposit money into your recipient's bank account. You will need your recipient's bank account information to use this service. View Fettan™ Money Transfer Locations for a complete list of banks we support.
This is how the Fettan™ Bank Deposit service works:
- You authorize a Fettan™ transaction after choosing Bank Deposit as your disbursement mode.
- You will see a summary of your transaction on the receipt page. You will also get a receipt SMS Text and/or email from Fettan™ that includes this information. At this point, Fettan™is processing your payment.
- Next, you will receive a "Deposit in Progress" email. This SMS Text and/or email is sent when the transaction has been forwarded to the recipient's bank for deposit. You may want to contact your recipient to inform them of this status.
- Your transaction will be updated to "Completed" when the money has been deposited. You'll also be able to track the entire process by visiting Fettan™Track Transaction and entering your tracking number.
MOBILE WALLET SERVICE
Fettan™partners with well-known and trusted Banks so you can quickly and easily deposit money into your recipient's Mobile Wallet linked to bank account. You will need your recipient's Mobile Number to use this service.
This is how the Fettan™Mobile Wallet service works:
- You authorize a Fettan™ transaction after choosing Mobile Wallet as your disbursement mode. You will see a summary of your transaction on the receipt page.
- You will also get a receipt SMS Text and/or email from Fettan™that includes this information. At this point, Fettan™ is processing your payment.
- Next, you will receive a "Deposit in Progress" email. This SMS Text and/or email is sent when the transaction has been forwarded to the recipient's Mobile Wallet for deposit. You may want to contact your recipient to inform them of this status. Your transaction will be updated to "Completed" when the money has been deposited. The recipient and you will receive an SMS Text and/or email indicating the deposit was made to the recipient's Mobile Wallet. You'll also be able to track the entire process by visiting Fettan™Track Transaction and entering your tracking number.
