Fettan at the Gates Foundation Global Savings Forum
Seattle, Washington, USA, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 16 November 2010. Offshoring 2.0 Technology Services, PLC, owner and operator of Fettan, the innovative mobile electronic payment platform, will be participating in the Global Savings Forum, an event hosted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Global Savings Forum brings together experts and stakeholders to promote the development of accessible and inexpensive financial services for the poor.
Most notable among the participants in the Global Savings Forum are Bill and Melinda Gates, Co-chair and Trustees of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Her Royal Highness Princess Máxima of the Netherlands, the UN Secretary General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development
Yemiru Chanyalew, CEO of Offshoring 2.0 Technology Services, has been working with the Gates Foundation to help in promoting the development of microfinance in Ethiopia and will be participating as a representative of private sector initiatives that will enable accessible financial services for the poor.
Fettan is the first mobile electronic payment platform in Ethiopia enabling person-to-person and person-to-business payments in Ethiopia using mobile phones, internet, and smart cards.
